Guest Speaker - Katy Chen

The Rotary Club of South Hilo welcomed Katy Chen, President and CEO of Goodwill Hawaii to their regular meeting on January, 09, 2024.  She spoke about Goodwill Hawaii, including the organization's past, present accomplishments, and future goals.  She spoke of the reach and impact of the programs offered by Goodwill Hawaii on the community, and future goals for the organization, including increasing their outreach and service capabilities capabilities on the Big Island through the acquisition of a new facility, hoping to centralize their efforts. 
 
As the facility is brought to a program-ready status, she posed possible partnership service project opportunities with The Rotary Club.
 

Prom Attire Donations Requested

In partnership with the Friends of the Children's Justice Center of East Hawaii, Rotary Club of East Hawaii members are asked to provide donations of prom attire for the young men and women attending Kea`au and Pahoa High School. 
 
Sought after attire and accessories include prom or cocktail dresses, hair decor, costume jewelry, makeup kits, fingernail polish, lip gloss, dress shoes, tissue paper, white dress shirts, fancy vests, ties, and men's dress shoes. 
 
Please drop off all donations to Equity Hawaii Real Estate located at 210 Kamehameha Ave., Hilo, HI 96720.  Donations can be dropped off until January 13, 2024.
