We will be holding our Annual Membership Luncheon Meeting and United Nations Day Celebration on Wednesday, October 24, 11:30 am - 1:30 pm at Nani Mau Gardens (upstairs).  Our keynote speaker will be Dr. Ryan Perroy, Associate Professor at UH Hilo in the Department of Geography & Environmental Science, whose topic will be “Global Warming and Hawaii”.

The impacts of climate change are beginning to be felt worldwide, and future projections are highly concerning. In this talk, Dr. Perroy will provide a brief summary of our current understanding of climate change science, examine global and local examples of present-day impacts due to increasing temperatures and sea level rise, and discuss projections of future impacts in a warmer world. Discussion follows.

The cost of the luncheon is $35, payable at the door.  To make a reservation, please reply to rrobison@hawaii.edu or phone 935-7991 and leave a call-back number for confirmation.

We hope to see you there!

Aloha, Ruth Robison
